Greece

See where you’re going before you go

Athens · Mars Hill · Corinth · Philippi · Thessaloniki · Meteora  —  Where Paul’s letters were written and received.

You’ve read Paul’s letters your whole life. Now read them where he wrote them

When you stand on the Areopagus in Athens and read Acts 17 — the place where Paul addressed the philosophers — the text stops being ancient history and becomes something personal. When you see the Bema in Corinth where Paul stood trial, 1 Corinthians reads differently forever.

That’s what this journey does. It doesn’t just show you ruins. It changes how you read.

This journey is for you if:

✓ You’ve read Acts and Paul’s letters and want to see the places they describe

✓ You’re a pastor looking for a transformative group pilgrimage for your congregation

✓ You’ve searched for a biblical guide in Greece and found only regular tourist tours

✓ You want devotional time and Scripture reading built into every stop — not just sightseeing

✓ You’ve always wanted to see both the ancient ruins AND the Greek islands — and wonder if you can do both in one trip

TRAVELING WITH 20+ PEOPLE?

✦ PLANNING THIS FOR YOUR CHURCH?

Why travelers choose FAVOR for Greece

A guide who opens Paul’s letters on-site

When you’re in Corinth, your guide reads 1 Corinthians at the Bema. In Athens, they open Acts 17 on Mars Hill. That’s the difference between sightseeing and pilgrimage.

Devotional time built into every stop

We don’t rush through sites. We pause, read, and pray there. For church groups, we build a full spiritual itinerary around your pastor’s vision and your congregation’s needs.

You don’t manage anything on the ground

When you stand in the Great Theatre at Ephesus, your guide opens Acts 19. In Laodicea — they read the letter to the church there. That’s a different experience from a history lecture.

Hear from those who’ve walked these roads

Our clients don’t just leave reviews. They send their friends, their families, and their congregation members. That’s the measure that matters.

Questions people ask before booking

It depends on an option you choose. The core itinerary includes: Athens (Mars Hill / Areopagus where Paul preached in Acts 17, Ancient Agora, Acropolis), Corinth (the Bema where Paul stood trial in Acts 18, Temple of Apollo, Corinthian Canal), Philippi (the riverside where Lydia was baptized — the first Christian convert in Europe), Thessaloniki, Berea, and the monasteries of Meteora. An optional extension to Patmos (where Revelation was written) and the Greek islands is available on request.

This is the most common question we receive — and the right one to ask. Many tours in Greece have regular history guides who mention Paul in passing. Our guides are selected specifically for their biblical knowledge. When you stand on Mars Hill, they open Acts 17 and read it with you. When you’re at the Bema in Corinth, they walk you through Acts 18. The Scripture is the tour. The ruins are the context.

Absolutely — and for church groups, this is the heart of what we do. We build in time for group worship, on-site Scripture reading, and pastoral devotions at every key stop. For groups of 20 or more, we create a fully customized spiritual program around your pastor’s vision — you lead the spiritual journey, we make sure everything runs perfectly.

Yes. Greece is one of the safest destinations in Europe. The U.S. State Department rates Greece as “Exercise Normal Precautions” — the same category as France, Germany, and the UK. The biblical sites (Athens, Corinth, Thessaloniki, Philippi) are well-established tourist destinations with excellent infrastructure. We’ve never had a safety incident with any FAVOR group in Greece.

US passport holders do not need a visa for Greece — you can stay up to 90 days in the Schengen Area without one. Starting in late 2026, the EU’s ETIAS travel authorization may be required for US citizens (a simple online registration, similar to the US ESTA, costing approximately €7). We send you complete entry instructions after booking.

Yes — and it’s one of the most popular additions. After the biblical tour of the mainland, many groups extend with a 3–4 night Greek Isles cruise visiting Santorini, Mykonos, and Rhodes. It’s a wonderful way to combine the pilgrimage with some of the most beautiful scenery in Europe. Write to us and we’ll build it into your quote.

Greece involves real walking — ancient sites have uneven terrain, cobblestones, and steps. The ascent to Mars Hill in Athens, for example, involves climbing ancient stone steps. We move at a comfortable group pace with built-in stops for reflection and prayer. Most participants in their 60s and 70s complete the tour comfortably. If you have specific health concerns, tell us at registration and we’ll discuss your situation personally.
